Located in the northern area of Tenerife with a surface area of 24,23 Km 2 at an altitude of 200 m and with a population of 5 545 dwellers. It is at a road distance of 68 Km from Santa Cruz deTenerife.

To the west it limits with Buenavista, to the east with El Tanque and nearing the coastline with Garachico, while to the south it borders with Santiago del Teide. To the north it features a rocky coastline with several sharp outcroppings and some beaches nestled among them.
